With even the smallest of platforms becoming capable of AI/ML - via embedded GPUs, dedicated deep learning accelerators or FPGAs - omnipresent and always on edge computation is no longer theory. And with a growing awareness of and investment in open source, a new wave of free and open platforms, software, hardware and tooling is changing the collaboration patterns and work methodologies for AI.
During the talk we will explain the importance of edge AI and discuss some of the crucial open technologies propelling the development of deep and machine learning forward - from open FPGA projects, through open edge processing platforms, to the global game-changer in computer architecture - RISC-V.
